How We Can Help

Horse Assisted Learning

Develop social skills and meaningful connections through our Horse Assisted Learning Program, supported by The Together In Stride Foundation at Heart Lake Farm.

Horse Assisted Learning

This program encourages positive social skill development for individuals in a group environment. Each week, participants work in teams and engage in objectively driven ground exercises with a horse.

Our health and learning experiences have a meaningful impact on both horses and individuals in our communities.

We believe in creating safe and inclusive spaces for humans and horses to lead with kindness and adapting based on individual and community needs.

The ground work stations are intended to encourage participants and horses to walk together.

Our program environment has been specifically designed to encourage self confidence through validated, hands-on experiences.

Together In Stride and Heart Lake Farm have a passion for supporting community members that are living with brain injury. All VBIS clients, family members, friends, and support teams are encouraged to participate in the sessions at no cost. For safety reasons, eligibility is subject to specific mobility and vision requirements.

Horse Assisted Learning is organized and facilitated in partnership with VBIS and The Together In Stride Foundation.
